Karaoke Social — Data Retention Policy

This page explains how to delete your Karaoke Social account and what happens to your data afterward.

How to delete your account

You can delete your account at any time, directly from inside the app:

1. Open Profile.
2. Tap the (…) menu.
3. Choose Settings.
4. Tap Delete Account and confirm.

14-day grace period

When you confirm deletion, your account is immediately deactivated and hidden from other users. For 14 days after that, you can recover the account by signing back in — this grace period exists so an accidental or coerced deletion can be undone.

After the grace period

Once the 14-day grace period ends, your account is permanently deleted. This includes your profile, photos, posts, performances and their videos, messages, the ratings you gave and received, your Diary, friends, location and visit history, song requests, bookmarks, memberships and push tokens.

A few things stay:

• Comments you wrote stay in their conversations as "[deleted]", with your name and words removed.
• Performances you recorded of other singers belong to those singers and stay on their profiles, without your name.
• Performances logged by a KJ's karaoke player stay in the KJ's records without your name.
• Copies of messages that someone reported stay until a moderator closes the report.
• Screenshots or videos you attached to a bug report or feature suggestion.
• If we ever gave you a complimentary membership, our record of that grant is kept for our accounts.

Backups containing your data are rotated out within our service providers' standard backup windows after deletion completes.

Lapsed Star memberships: Diary recordings may be deleted no sooner than 30 days after notice; notes, logged entries and ratings are kept.
